Video Of The Week: Contact by Reed Merschat

 

In the early 2000s, we were treated to three films by Reed Merschat. Contact was his final film, and to this day, one of my favorites. The anticipation of the arrival of this VHS tape in my mailbox was insane, and I remember taking it around to all the group rides to watch it with everyone else. (Not that they didn’t also have a copy of it, but you never know.) Reed brought all the best riders to life, not just through what they were doing on the bike, but how they were off the bike as well. Contact is an incredible window into the riding scene of the early 2000s - and you can be sure that your current favorite rider grew up watching this on repeat.
