How I Simplified MTB Drops For My Son

Drops are the easiest thing to overthink and overcomplicate, so most people would wait longer than a week to start learning them. When we came to Bentonville and saw the Slaughter Pen setup, I knew it was the perfect place to teach my son to hit drops with confidence and control.

Repetition played a big part in the process, but we just focused on matching his wheels to the landing and making sure he had enough speed to clear the drop. Once he got comfortable with those two elements, it was surprising to see how quickly he advanced. *Every drop is different (takeoffs, landings, speed), but what made this stop special is that it was intentionally built to teach the basics for landing drops.

Teegan may have gotten Endura Hummvee Shorts in this video from  @jensonusabicycles , but I stole them immediately after the trip wrapped up. They are so legit! Get a pair for yourself here: https://jenson.sjv.io/5g2kk2
